Latest Hunt:

Well the hunting usually gets a fair bit harder this time of year but size & numbers usually remain ok. Brendan Callis from "Go The Whole Hog" productions is currently in OZ doing some editing with his partner in crime Mark. A hunt was organised & the excitement was building. Dogs had had a couple week break & popping at the seams with energy & rearing to go. All factors were lining up for an action packed hunt & good times.
We were to hunt during daylight hours so it was going to very tropical but nothing the dogs aren't used to. I was praying for an small overnight shower to leave us with some overcast conditions for sunrise.
WELL, I got my shower....All 12 hrs of it. We were forced to change tactic & hunt a different (safer) area. It was wet but we pushed along. As rode around a large swamp I suggested to Brendan that we were more likely to get a "Jump" on the other side as it was higher ground. Sure enough off the dogs flew, we turned off the Commander & waited for bark.
"Yep" we both said as we heard the first bark. In we rode to find them on a decent sow.
While it was a start it's not the usual good boars we are used to.
Persistence usually pays off & not long after we got our selves a couple young Boars. Things were looking up slowly but surely. 6 hours later the tally hadn't changed & dogs didn't even look like getting excited bar the odd moment of eagerness that wasn't enough to see em leave the Commander.
We hunted hard & covered some miles.....The rain had set the scene for our record breaking hunt! The record was least amount of pigs caught & smallest maximun size in a single hunt.
Thanks for being part that Brendan & Whole Hog Productions ;)
